Biography

Elena Piccione began playing the piano at the age of seven under the guidance of Stefania Tigossi. She identified and encouraged Elena’s talent and in that same year she began performing both solo repertoire and chamber music.


At the age of twelve Elena gave her first recital and at thirteen years of age she entered the Conservatorio di Musica N. Paganini in Genoa to commence a performance degree. Elena’s progress was accelerated and at the age of eighteen she graduated with a master’s degree in Pianoforte.


She has been laureate of many national and international competitions, among others, the Adesso Musica of Savona (2003) where she also received a special award for the best interpretation during the final concert.

Elena’s repertoire is extensive ranging from baroque to contemporary music. Her repertoire includes the complete mazurkas by Chopin (2003) and the complete trios by Mozart (2007). She has also collaborated with contemporary composers Pino Briasco and Massimo Lauricella.

She has performed in many important venues and festivals in Italy and abroad. They include the Sala Ademollo and Palazzo Sani in Lucca, the Journée Mondiale de la Philosophie at UNESCO 2005, the Lions International, the Associazione Musicale G.Rossini of Valleggia, the Associazione Amici del Carlo Felice, the Liguria Eventi and Associazione Amici del Conservatorio Paganini in Genoa, the Camogli Festival, the Alassio Festival, the A.Gi.Mus. She has also performed at the Universitat Mozarteum in Salzburg, the DOK Centrum in Delft and she has participated in the Full Moon Concerts at the WMDC in Rotterdam.
 
Since 2010 Elena has studied with Giovanni Alvino who is both pianist and pedagogue.
 
In 2011 she performed for the International Festival “Dino Ciani” in Stresa and also the Diano Ciani Concerts in Milan, in collaboration with the Venice
Biennale.
 
Elena is a passionate chamber musician who currently performs as a duo with the pianist Giovanni Alvino and with the flautist Marco Bortoletti.
