Elena Piccione began playing the piano at the age of seven, under the guidance of Prof. Stefania Tigossi. She identified and encouraged Elena’s talent and in that same year she began performing both solo repertoire and chamber music. At the age of twelve, Elena gave her first solo recital and at thirteen years of age she entered the Conservatorio di Musica N. Paganini in Genoa to commence a performance degree.
Elena’s progress was accelerated and at the age of eighteen she graduated with a Master’s Degree in Pianoforte. She took masterclasses with Aldo Ciccolini and Andrei Gavrilov.
She has been laureate of many national and international competitions, among others, the Adesso Musica of Savona (2003) where she also received a special award for the best interpretation during the final concert.
Elena’s repertoire is extensive, ranging from baroque to contemporary music. Her repertoire includes the Chopin's Complete Mazurkas (2003) and Waltzes and the Mozart's Complete Piano Sonatas and Piano Trios. She has performed in many important venues and festivals in Italy and abroad. They include Journée Mondiale de la Philosophie at UNESCO 2005, World Autism Awareness Day at Genoa's Sala Govi, Lions International, Camogli and Alassio Festival, A.Gi.Mus. Concert Series, Chamber Music Festival of Lucca, International Festival Mozart of Benevento, Festival "Sangemini Classic", Ravello Concert Society, Fall Concert Series at Palazzo Spinola in Genoa. She has also performed at the Universitat Mozarteum in Salzburg, the DOK Centrum in Delft. She has participated in the Full Moon Concerts at the WMDC in Rotterdam and at the “Dag van de Romantische Muziek” at the Erasmuspark, in Rotterdam.
Since 2010, Elena has studied with Giovanni Alvino who is both pianist and pedagogue. In 2011, she performed for the International Festival “Dino Ciani” in Stresa, on the Lake Maggiore and also the Dino Ciani Concerts in Milan, in collaboration with the Venice Biennale.
Elena is a passionate chamber musician who currently performs as a duo with the pianist Giovanni Alvino.
She's Founder, President and Artistic Director of the AMI - Finale Ligure and International Relations Manager in the AMI - Benevento.
