Biografia

Maura Soro ha iniziato gli studi musicali presso l'Istituto di Musica di Gorizia  sotto la guida della prof. Ersilia Russian e  nel 1978 si è diplomata in pianoforte al Conservatorio "G. Tartini" di Trieste  con la  prof. Elena Lipizer.
Si è dedicata per alcuni anni all'attività concertistica in duo con il flauto, che aveva scelto come strumento da accompagnare fin da quando era un'allieva. Successivamente ha iniziato ad eseguire concerti per pianoforte e orchestra, soprattutto del repertorio antico e rococò ( J.S. Bach, G. Platti, C.H. Graun...) e moderno (R. Pick-Mangiagalli, F. Margola...).
Nel frattempo assisteva alle lezioni di Maestri quali Roberto Repini, Carlo Zecchi, Paul Badura-Skoda , Massimo Gon, J.F. Thiollier, Dario De Rosa, Maureen Jones, Riccardo Risaliti. 
A partire dall'anno 2001 suona in duo con un contrabbassista e nel 2012 ha costituito un duo pianistico a quattro mani con cui continua l'attività concertistica.
E' in possesso della laurea in fisica conseguita presso l'Università degli Studi di Trieste 
Insegna pianoforte principale soprattutto con l'intento di preparare gli allievi agli esami di Stato nei conservatori.

Maura Soro began her musical studies at the Music Institute of Gorizia ( Italy) under the guide of prof. Ersilia Russian and graduated in piano from  "G.Tartini" Conservatory of Trieste with prof. Elena Lipizer in 1978. For many years she devoted herself to the concert activity performing in a flute and piano duo touring several Italian cities, indeed this was the instrument she had chosen to accompany since when she was a student. Later she appeared as a soloist with chamber orchestras, performing mostly concerts for piano and orchestra of the ancient, rococò and modern repertoire( J.S. Bach, G. Platti, C.H. Graun, R. Pick Mangiagalli, F. Margola and others). She attended master classes held by renowned musicians as Roberto Repini, Carlo Zecchi, Paul Badura -Skoda, Massimo Gon, J.F. Thiollier, Dario De Rosa, Maureen Jones, Riccardo Risaliti. In 2001 she started playing in a new duo, with a double-bass and presenly performs regularly in a piano duo. She has been teaching piano for more than thirty years at the Music  Institute of Gorizia and many of her pupils  have passed the exams from the Italian Conservatories. In the past she graduated in phisycs from the University of Trieste.
