Biography
Born in Mexico City into a musical family, started playing the cello at the age of ten studing with Sally Van den Berg. He studies at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City with Zoia Kamisheva and Ignacio Mariscal. In 1993 moves to the United States to study with Felice Magendanz at the University of Central Arkansas. During this period of studies he also becomes cellist of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra until 1996. Back in Mexico he plays wth the Orquesta Sinfònica de la Universidad de Guanajuato and later on becomes coprincipal cellist of the Orquesta Sinfonica Miguel Hidalgo. In 1998 he recieves an scholarship to participate in the Texas Music Festival at the Houston University playing under Maxim Shostakovich, Leon Spierer and Carl Saint Clair. In 2002 he moves to Italy starting a new period of musical studies obtainig a cello diploma from the Mantova Conservatory. His interest in historical performance practice and early music leads him to study baroque cello getting a certificate from the Verona Conservatory. He has deepen in the Baroque, Classical and Romantic cello repertoire with Claudio Ronco in Venice. He studies viola da gamba at the Parma Conservatory with Maestro Roberto Gini.
