It was October 2015 when TECOM developed Dubai Science Park, a unit covering Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park (DuBiotech) and the Energy and Environment Park (EnPark).

Thus, a latest headquarters project was divulged to complement modern feature and facility of Dubai Science Park in Dubailand.

The expansion consists of two towers, labeled as North and South while a retail unit, named The Jewel.

The executive director of Dubai Science Park, Marwan Abdulaziz mentioned in a report that t the project’s phased handover will start 2016. North Tower is scheduled for finishing point in September. On the other hand, South Tower and The Jewel will be handed over between the month of October and December.

Establishments licensed by Dubai Science Park with sites in other TECOM zones, like Internet City, will step by step move into the latest headquarters buildings upon their conclusion.

This amount was arrived at after the Emirate’s municipal councils presented their project plans to the public works department.

The head of the Department of Public Works in Sharjah, Eng. Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, averred that the department has planned a construction proposal across the whole Emirate.

The proposals for the year comprise educational, academic and sports projects.

Al Suwaidi also mentioned that Sharjah’s Department of Public Works fulfilled 90% of the Emirate’s designed municipal expansion and service projects last 2015.

There will be 100 smart bus stops to be opened in several areas of Dubai according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive of RTA has launched the first 25 smart air-conditioned bus shelters starting in Jumeirah with services such as free mobile charging and topping up mobile balance, WiFi connection, smart shopping, smart booths where customers can pay their utility and telecom bills., credit card bills, send remittances, as also booking air tickets. The remaining 75 bus stops are expected to be launched by end of 2016.

According to director General, the project is in line with the agency’s initiative to deliver and provide better customer experience and give people leisure while they use public transport. Furthermore, it also coincides with the program of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai a smart city and the cheeriest in the world through its 24-hour services.

The project covers 15 neighborhoods such as Dubai Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Wasl, Jumeirah, Deira, Umm Al Ramool, Al Quoz, Al Rashidiya, Al Qusais, Al Awir, Al Nahda, Al Satwa, Al Karama, Al Ras, Al Garhoud, and Al Jafiliya. The smart shelters have been selected from the existing 656 air conditioned bus stops located across the city according to several safety requirements and the volume of commuters.
