My Piano Background:
I began to take lessons with my parents at four years old and slowly developed through the years learning various repetoire as a young student progresses. I always loved music especially since my family were musicians, roll back to my Grandfathers who were a flutist and concert violinist. (Raymond S. Marsh, Herbert Benkman)
Over the course of time my interests began not only in Jazz but Modern (Contemporary Music) I learned to improvise, and was writing my own selections as a child with my parents assistance. My parents were remarkable teachers and gave me what was needed to facilitate my wants, goals. Of course most of their students were incredibly advanced piano artists of their own. From the beginning I was learning music from the interpretations I listened to.
My favorite piano artists were Sergi Rachmaninoff, Vladimir Horowitz and the middle 20th century virtuoso players, technique and musicality. It was always a personal voyage into music, and the beautiful expressions of mankind written therein...along with Art.
