Biography

"I started studying music at the age of six and since then, throughout the years, I've been learning that music development is a pleasuring endless lifetime journey that takes us to a new place everyday."


Conductor who has been performing with choirs, orchestras, chamber ensembles in Europe and in America, Roberto Gallo is the newly appointed conductor for the Exeter University Choral Society, in the city of Exeter, United Kingdom.


Having spent many years between Italy and Brazil, his education and professional career have been divided between both countries. Graduated in conducting in Brazil and with post-graduation courses in modern music, music technology and music education in Italy, Roberto has attended several festivals, workshops and seminars of great musicians and conductors.


Roberto acted as conductor of the Camerata EMP for four years, with which he directed more than 50 concerts, performing music from baroque to the 20th century. 


Founder of the City Brass and Percussion Ensemble and former assistant conductor of the Piracicaba Symphony Choir,  has performed as guest conductor with symphony and chamber orchestras, choirs and other types of ensembles,  performing regular concerts and major works like oratorios and masses. Also, for a brief period, has acted as assistant music producer in a number of recordings, working alongside Deutsche Grammophon tonemeisters.


With a great passion for music education, Roberto has taught in secondary schools and in further education for seven years.


Graduate member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians in the United Kingdom.

Associate member of the Institute for Learning of England.
