Cristina Cavalli began studying music with Lidia Palo Giorgi; she obtained diplomas in Pianoforte at the Conservatorio "G.Nicolini" of Piacenza and in Chamber Music at the Conservatorio "B. Maderna" of Cesena with full marks; alongside her academic path she attended courses and master classes with notable musicians including Sergio Fiorentino, Pier Narciso Masi and Marisa Somma. She has maintained her interest in chamber music, which she regularly studies and practises, and continued her studies at the Accademia “Incontri col Maestro” of Imola, where she obtained the Diploma di Alto Perfezionamento in Chamber Music.
She appears frequently in concerts both as soloist and as chamber music partner, in a repertoire ranging from the 17th century to contemporary music. Her interest in this latter has enabled her to enrich her musical experience by taking part in important events such as Novurgia of Milan, Festival Viaggi of Pavia and Festival di Nuovo Musica of Reggio Emilia. She has played for the Universities of Macerata, Piacenza and Bologna and has recorded music by Beethoven and Glinka for RaiSat3. In 2008 she was invited to give one of the Official Concerts of the European Festival of Music 2008 in Rome.
As soloist and chamber musician she has appeared in important Italian and European venues, including Palazzina Liberty and Sala Verdi in Milan, Teatro Municipale of Piacenza, Teatro Cavallerizza of Reggio Emilia, Teatro Magnani of Fidenza, Teatro di Roma, Sala Eutherpe of Léon and Teatro Ruskaja of Roma, drawing unanimous praise from public and critics. She is to give concerts and master classes in the United States in 2011. In parallel with traditional concert activities, she collaborates constantly with the world of theatre and dance, conceiving and realizing, personally and in collaboration with other artists, shows in which music is combined and synthesized with the other arts. Her show "Mediterraneo", a journey in sound along the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea, made its debut in Rome and is to appear in other important centres in Italy, Spain and the USA. It was written of her in 2010: "The stars descend and roll on the floor… they cross the room unleashing many-coloured sparks, a romantic carnival developing among desires and passions to create an evening unlike any others, leaving us all anxious for a sequel".
